Today on my sports show I said that Montana high school football will never be the same. Why…well Les Meyer is leaving Fairfield to take the supernatant position in Frenchtown. During his first season as head coach in Fairfield in 1997 his team went 0-8…in 2001, they were 9-2. Then they became one of the best in Class “B” advancing to the state title game five years in a row from 2007 to 2011. Meyer’s teams won three state titles in 2011, 2015 and 2018. His team win-loss record the past 6 seasons, 64-3. Plus 8 times in the last 15 years they played for the title. It’s true Montana high school football will not be the same without Les.
