It’s sad that Hellgate and Hardin have to share a state basketball title this year. Those two teams were the very best in their classification.
Hellgate: a perfect 23-0, only once did a team come within 10 points of beating them. They were the top-scoring team in “AA” at 69, the best defensive team giving up just 40, and during the regular season, they shot 45% on three’s.
Hardin: The best team in class “A” period! They went a perfect 23-0, averaged 81 and gave up just 49. The Bulldogs had a margin of victory of more than 32 points a game.
So the bottom line…in a perfect world a Hellgate – Hardin game would really be something to see!
